Rose Gold Wreath

This card is one I’ll be putting in 3 challenges: the DRU Challenge #163 (I used an Impression Obsession Scribble Circle die); the MFT Stamps - Slimline Challenge - Winter Scenes; and the Simon Says: Make A Slimline Card challenge.


To begin I cut and scored a white card base, then cut 2 mats - the smaller one gray and the larger one of a silver linen cardstock. I die cut the scribble circle from rose gold mirror cardstock, one snowflake and the leaves from white cardstock, and another snowflake from vellum. Last, I die cut the hugs twice from gray cardstock. 

After gluing the words together, I embossed them twice in silver. I glued it and the scribble circle on the gray mat, and poked a hole through it and the snowflakes so I could attach a rhinestone brad. After attaching the leaves I put it all together.

Springtime Camellias

I finally finished the Easter/Spring cards I made to send out to family & friends. They’re definitely Spring cards now since they’re too late otherwise! I used the Altenew Camellia Outline stamp to emboss the design in gold on 5”x7” watercolor paper, then colored in the design using Cretacolor Aqua Monolith Watercolor Pencils. After using a water brush to activate and move the color, l let them dry then cut the sheets vertically above & below the design without cutting through it. On the other side of the design I cut all the way down set off a bit. After fussy cutting the outer portion of the Camellias that extends over the line, I embossed the sentiments in gold. On plain white cardstock, cut to size, I inked a bokeh design using Distress Oxide Tattered Rose, Iced Spruce, Hickory Smoke, Weathered Wood, and Hero Arts Unicorn. Summer Pond

This card took a few different turns. I decided to go with a pond theme for the  The House That Stamps Built Theme Challenge J2321 ~ Scenery and for the 'I love....' Stamping Sensations June challenge. I love lily pads and froggies, so I thought I’d make a pond scene using Altenew Paint-A-Flower Lotus stamp and a die cut frog.  Unfortunately, the triple layer mandala frog pattern I had just would not cut on my Cricut from cardstock. I tried a new blade, making the image bigger, but nothing seemed to work; so I thought maybe I’d try a dragonfly. I do love those colorful dragonflies that zip around the water.  Every dragonfly file I found would have ended up with the same problem, though, so I decided to find a zentangle dragonfly to color with Copics. Autumn Kitty

A few challenges have come up using similar colors:  Creative Confetti - Colors of Fall! ; The House That Stamps Built - Inspiration Palette Challenge ; & the MFT Color Challenge 150 . Woo hoo! One card, three entries. So here’s what I came up with. The Painted Harvest stamp & die set from Stampin Up is retired, but I found a used set on ebay for a good price, so what better to use for these colors?   For the background I applied a light layer of Catherine Pooler Garden Party to white cardstock, spritzed it with water, & dried it quickly with my heat gun. Next I stamped the 2 layer fern-type leaf in Melon Ice & Lime Rickey, then attached it to a Kraft card base. On another piece of white cardstock I stamped 2 of the leaf sets with Sage & Spruce, one flower with Limoncello & Shea Butter, one with Shea Butter & Tiara, and one with Bellini & Orange Peel.
